What is Veinwave?

Veinwave is the latest thermo-coagulation technology. Thermo-coagulation is based on a high frequency wave producing a thermal reaction in the blood vessel without damage to the skin surface. This unique method is very effective and without significant discomfort. Equipped with a magnifying loop, the practitioner introduces a very fine needle only a millimetre into the skin, over the vein. The vein will generally disappear instantaneously. However in most cases treatment will need to be repeated to successfully remove the vein.

How are the treatments carried out

A session lasts 15 – 30 minutes and 40-50cm of thread veins can be treated in that time. Almost any part of the body; including eyelids and nostrils, can be treated following a meticulous inspection by the consultant to determine efficacy and safety. The treatment leaves no bruising or wound. Instead, there are often small red marks which then become micro-crusts, or scratches. Minor swelling, sensitivity and redness may be experienced in the area treated, but any after-effects will be expected to resolve within 48 hours.

Is Veinwave treatment safe for my skin?

Yes. Veinwave utilises an ultra fine insulated needle which allows accurate application of the treatment whilst protecting the skin and surrounding tissue. The sterile single use, needle is covered with a nickel insulating sheath, which protects the skin, enabling a targeted action without any side effects. Clients with a nickel allergy are treated with a gold needle and although this can produce slightly more discomfort during treatment it will not affect the safety or success of the treatment.

No bandages are required and the client may resume most everyday activities immediately. Exceptions are detailed in a comprehensive aftercare advice leaflet. For example; exercise, alcohol consumption or heat treatments should be avoided for 48 hours post treatment

Can all skin types and all areas be treated?

Yes. Veinwave can be applied to any kind of skin complexion because it doesn't cause loss of pigmentation. It treats red spots and all spider veins on the body, legs, feet as well as troublesome facial red veins. Veinwave can be used equally well on men and women.

Is Veinwave treatment painful?

The procedure is comparatively painless.

Is anyone not suitable for Veinwave?

Veinwave treatment is contra-indicated in patients who suffer from infectious skin conditions, those who are pregnant, those suffering from epilepsy and patients who have a pacemaker or take anticoagulants.
