Anti-Ageing Treatments
What does the Cottage Surgery have to offer
We have developed expertise in tailored combination therapies. Each client will have a unique personal programme that will include three main elements: exfoliation, enhanced collagen stimulation and then protection from further premature aging.
The exfoliation module may include acid peels such as glycolic, salicylic or TCA peels, and /or microdermabrasion using the widely acclaimed Salt A-Peel system. Intense collagen stimulation is achieved by NLite laser therapy and prescribed high calibre skin products. More information on the therapies used is available below:
Each component is designed to stimulate fibroblast cells, responsible for the production of new collagen and elastin. They are each powerful anti-aging therapy in their own right but when combined in this unique synergistic manner will provide maximum collagen regeneration. Skin will appear softer, smoother, firmer and younger looking.
You Can’t Stop Time, But Now You Can Reverse Its Effect
In today’s world of advanced medicine and technology, people are living longer, healthier and more active lives. Skin degradation and imperfections, an unavoidable aspect of time are not just the bane of old age. Premature aging of the skin can often have a negative impact on careers, social life and self-image. Cosmetic surgery has, until recently been the only option for those who want to look the age they feel. But cosmetic surgery is painful and expensive and frequently does no more than stretch an old skin tighter!
Getting older happens to us all but your age can stay your secret - your face doesn't have to give it away!
Anti-aging therapy has been a very important area of development for us and over the past six years we have evolved a proven regime of clinical treatments and home care products to reverse damage already caused, prevent further from occurring and successfully slow down the skin aging process. How does skin age?
Most premature signs of aging are caused by overexposure to environmental factors such as the sun's UV rays, chemicals in food, and air pollution. These environmental impurities create free radicals in the body which assault and damage skin cells, causing the acceleration of aging. The skin is composed of four main layers: the epidermis, dermis, the germinative (regenerative) layer, and subcutaneous fat. The skin cells grow from the germinative layer to the epidermis - the top layer of the skin - in approximately 28 days. At the end of the cycle, the cells die and form a tough outer shield known as the stratum corneum. The appearance of the outer skin is determined by how healthy the skin cells are as they go through the 28-day growth cycle.
What Are The Visible Signs Of Ageing?
When a person ages, and the skin cells become weaker due to an increase of free radical damage, the skin loses its elasticity and becomes thinner. As skin elasticity and collagen content begin to decrease, wrinkles, deeper expression lines, increased pore size, and age spots begin to appear. Broken capillaries, rosacea, spider veins, freckles, flushing, pigmentation problems are all signs of skin aging and can begin in the mid-20s if the skin has had continuous overexposure to the sun.
